Would you believe me if I’d tell you that the gates of hell are located in Bordeaux? Anyway, this is where fiends called Ali Macabre, Romain Lubrique, Dorian Le Marteau, Paula Satàn and Arthur Satàn are practicing their cursed cult with dirty and bewitched melodies. Here is the message they gave to us before answering to some of our questions:

“We are a group of fundamentalists located between the “Grand Parc” and CFDT’s castle from St Genès neighborhood in Bordeaux. We’re spreading the Word of Jésus Christ Satàn’s, the hidden son of Virgin Mary and M. Satanas”.

Last year they did an evil tour everywhere to celebrate their last LP Hell Death Samba. Now they’re preparing the release of a new one for the spring then they’ll continue their crusades (France, UK, US…) to enroll some new lost souls.

x Definition of rock and music:

We have rarely had to answer to that kind of stupid question but we’ll do it anyway. Rock is when the guitar has a more grainy sound than that of a pop band.

This is a coloured drawing by Paula called ISOLATION #4. This is the kind of drawing she was doing while being bored far away from us. At this time, she was working in Italy, alone in a small bookstore. Then she has moved back to Bordeaux and it’s getting better. She’s drawing porno now.


x Worst Nightmare ?

The one where we had this dreadful punishment from Satan. He made disappear all of the meat of the world to replace it with tofu.


x The place you enjoy?

In our bedroom, inside our boyfriend/girlfriend, listening to the original soundtrack of Conan The Barbarian.

Et si les portes de l’Enfer se trouvaient à Bordeaux ? En tout cas c’est là bas que les 5 fanatiques Ali Macabre, Romain Lubrique, Dorian Le Marteau, Paula Satàn et Arthur Satàn pratiquent leur culte maudit à coups de mélodies crasseuses et ensorcelées. Voici le message qu’ils nous ont laissé :

« Nous sommes un groupuscule d'intégristes religieux basé entre le Grand Parc et le château CFDT du quartier St Genès à Bordeaux. Nous prêchons la parole de Jésus Christ Satàn, le fils caché de la vierge Marie et de Mr Satanas. »

Après avoir endiablé toutes les scènes possibles et imaginables pour célébrer leur dernier LP "Hell Death Samba", ils préparent actuellement la sortie du nouveau au printemps. Ensuite, ils repartiront sur les routes (France, Angleterre, USA…) encore et encore afin d’initier de nouvelles âmes errantes... 

x Votre définition du rock, de la musique:

Nous avons rarement eu affaire à une question aussi naze mais nous allons quand même y répondre.
Le rock c'est quand les guitares ont un peu plus de grain que dans un groupe de pop.

Ce dessin colorié de Paula intitulé ISOLATION #4. C'est le genre de dessin qu'elle faisait quand elle s'ennuyait loin de nous.
A l'époque elle travaillait en Italie toute seule dans une petite librairie. Maintenant elle est revenue habiter ici, à Bordeaux et ça va mieux. Elle s'est mise à dessiner du porno.


x Pire cauchemar ?

Celui où nous avions subi une terrible punition infligée par Satan. Il avait fait disparaître toute la viande dans le monde et l'avait remplacé par du tofu.


x Un endroit préféré?

Dans notre chambre, dans notre mec/meuf en train d'écouter la bande originale de Conan Le Barbare.

Acid Baby Jesus from Athens, Greece.

They’re currently ready to begin their European Tour (from the 1th of December with some gigs in France) with their mates Bazooka and they will also support Black Lips for some shows. All information about this tour here. 
They’re also taking some time to write new songs for the releases of some singles and an upcoming 2nd LP.

It’s sad that today in France, we’re only talking about Greece in terms of economic matters or sandwiches.
I’m not historian but I really want to tell the truth. Greece is a land where its youth knows how to rebel and it’s also the cradle of European culture. Maybe of good rock and roll as well, who knows?
Acid Baby Jesus might just be one proof of that.
What would Socrates, Plato & co have to say about the rage and the intensity of the music of their young descendants? We can truly assume that the fact of appreciating, listening to good music, is a philosophy. Anyway, that’s ours.

Noda is the guitarist and the singer of the band, and here, he has answered some questions:


x Definition of rock and music:

Rock 'n roll and other terms is just the human being's need to categorize everything and put it in a box.

Music is frequencies that vibrate our bodies in certain ways and create feelings. There's good music and there's bad music.

It's really frustrating to see bands like the Ramones being put under the same genre as Nickelback or some shit like that.



x A picture? 



This is Jack Black, the author of one of my favorite books called: "You Can't Win".
It's an autobiography and it's crazy to see this picture and think what the guy has put himself through.


x Worst Nightmare ?

Probably being buried alive. That’s pretty intense. Sometimes I smoke pot and think about it intensely and it’s like I'm there, so scary.


x The place you enjoy?

Being able to travel this last year has opened my eyes to a lot of new amazing spots around Europe and the U.S but I also have a new found appreciation for my hometown of Athens.
Also, my bed in the morning.




x 3 records:

It's hard to narrow it down to 3. There's a lot of records I get into from time to time but I always keep going back to Velvet Underground, Syd Barrett, Gun Club, Joy Division. Don't know why, I'm usually drawn to "darker" sounds, they make me happy.
